Welcome to the
  Outreach Program

Thanks for visiting the DPS Homeless Services Program Website

Our mission for the Educational Outreach Program is to help homeless children use education to break the cycle of poverty by providing essential educational supports. Our primary objective is to remove educational barriers that prevent homeless children from having a successful school experience.

EOP identified and assisted 2,063 students during 2012-2013 school year.

We focus on two main areas: School Readiness and Student Success

  • school enrollment and advocacy

  • backpack/school supplies

  • free breakfast and lunch assistance

  • clothing and uniform assistance

  • basic need supplies

  • community resources for emergency housing situations

  • school transportation help

Our homeless liaison school assignment list for 2013.2014 has changed. Please view before sending your referral so the appropriate staff person can work on request.

Great Harvest 2013 Press Release

8/1/13: A very special thank you to Sara Fuentes from Minority Enterprise and Educational Development (MEED)  http://www.meedcolorado.org/ for all of her efforts in organizing back to school drive supplies for EOP students. Sara has worked tirelessly over the last 7 years to help our students be prepared for the first day of school. Sara reaches out to business and churches to provide backpacks and school supplies. Some special organizations to note are Shorter A.M.E Church in NE Denver, Hispanic Contractors of Colorado (HCC), United Launch Alliance (ULA), and Callahan Management. We are a very luck program to be the recipients of this collaboration. Thank you to all the organizations that help our EOP students!
